Hyderabad: Despite the pandemic, the IT sector in Telangana has recorded double digit growth and maintained the growth rate ahead of the same with respect to the national figures, said Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) Hyderabad Director CVD Ram Prasad.
Speaking at the ‘Annual Innovation Summit and Awards 2021’, organised by industry body Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association (HYSEA) and STPI, he said there has been a significant growth of IT exports and a sustained addition of employment in this sector during last the financial year.
IT and Industries Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan said Telangana Goernment is considering constituting ten consortiums in areas like cybersecurity, SAS, Animation and Gaming Services, AI/ML, BFSI and some more to promote growth of the industry in these sectors.
HYSEA played a role in preventing layoffs during the first wave of the pandemic. Also, the job fair it conducted was beneficial for the small and medium enterprises, he said.
HYSEA President Bharani K Aroll the event had seen more than 1,300 registrations. The annual event brings together city’s innovation eco-system consisting of We-Hub, T-Hub, TiE, TSIC, Hyderabad Angels and IIIT-H, he said.
JA Chowdary, HYSEA former president, was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
