Hyderabad: Overseas Manpower Recruiters Association here on Tuesday urged Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to prioritise the availability of Covishield vaccination for the overseas job seekers during the ongoing drive of administering vaccines to people.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister, Association president D S Reddy said that it would be a great relief for the emigrant workers if they get Covishield vaccines so that they could join duty without any problem.
“Though there are options to add passport number in vaccination certificate as an identity (ID) number at the time of online registration through Cowin website, the staff at vaccination centers were refusing to accept the passport number as an ID after approaching them directly,” he said.
The State government in Kerala was the first to facilitate vaccination for overseas job seekers, especially those going to the Gulf countries to add passport number as ID in the vaccination certificates. Reddy also requested to give preference to students, who are going abroad, in administering vaccines. He said the association was a registered organisation by the Ministry of External Affairs with members from all over Telangana.
