Warangal: Kakatiya scion Kamal Chandra Bhanj Deo from the erstwhile royal family of Bastar in Chhattisgarh visited key cultural and spiritual landmarks in Hanamkonda and Warangal on Tuesday. He urged the Centre to name the proposed airport at Mamnoor after Kakatiya queen Rani Rudramadevi.

Accompanied by BRS Hanamkonda district president and former MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar, Kamal Chandra Bhanj Deo offered special pujas at the historic Bhadrakali Temple, where he was welcomed with Poornakumbha by priests. He paid floral tributes to the statue of Rani Rudramadevi at Pochamma Maidan. He also performed rituals at the Swayambhu Shambhu Lingeshwara Temple in Fort Warangal and the Thousand Pillar Temple.

Speaking at a meet-and-greet at Haritha Kakatiya, the 22nd generation heir of the Kakatiya dynasty, urged people to protect India’s ancient culture. “India is the cradle of language, script, and civilisation, which must be safeguarded for future generations. Preserving heritage is our collective responsibility,” he added.
