Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Monday broke his silence on the suspension of former MLC K Kavitha, declaring that the matter is closed. Responding to queries from the media at Telangana Bhavan, he stated that after discussing thoroughly with the party leaders, party president K Chandrashekhar Rao took the final decision.

“Action has been taken in the matter after considering all aspects. There is nothing more to comment,” he asserted.

Turning his guns at the Congress, Rama Rao said TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud had effectively become the “approver” in the ongoing defections controversy. He reminded that Mahesh Kumar Goud admitted during a news channel interview that 10 BRS MLAs joined the ruling Congress. “When the TPCC president himself has turned approver, what is the point of an investigation?” he asked, urging the Speaker to make a decision immediately.

He pointed out that Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari also openly admitted to joining the Congress, exposing the ruling party’s doublespeak.

“Rahul Gandhi goes around brandishing the Constitution, while Chief Minister Revanth Reddy holds meetings with defected MLAs. This is the height of hypocrisy,” he said, referring to the Chief Minister’s closed-door meeting with the turncoat MLAs on Sunday.
