Telangana: Kishan Reddy, Bandi Sanjay must ensure cotton procurement, says Minister Ponnam

After inaugurating a CCI purchasing centre in Husnabad market on Tuesday, the Minister said the delay in opening the centres was affecting the farmers

Siddipet: Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar asked union ministers from the State, G Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, to ensure that the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) opened all 322 cotton purchasing centres here to ensure the smooth purchasing from farmers.

He asked the BJP ministers to talk to the union Minister and CCI top brass.

After inaugurating a CCI purchasing centre in Husnabad market on Tuesday, the Minister said the delay in opening the centres was affecting the farmers. Prabhakar called upon the CCI and marketing department officials to provide all facilities at the purchasing centres.

He suggested that the farmers bring cotton in open trucks rather than in bags which would make weighing difficult. The Minister called upon the farmers to properly dry cotton to ensure only 8 per cent moisture in the product before they brought it to the market.
