Hyderabad: The State government on Wednesday notified the establishment of the much-awaited mango market at Rampuram village near Kollapur in Nagarkurnool district.
Considering the growing popularity and demand for mangoes cultivated in and around Kollapur, this market yard will function exclusively for transactions pertaining to the mango crops under the Agricultural Market Committee of Kollapur.
The proposed agriculture market yard will be established with international standard facilities, in an extent of 12 acres on Kollapur-Pebbair road at Rampuram village. About 5 km radius around the market has been declared as a notified market area. The new market yard is being constructed to reduce the burden on Hyderabad fruit markets.
Following the orders issued by the Agriculture and Marketing department, Kollapur MLA B Harshavardhan Reddy thanked Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy in this regard.
