Hyderabad: Congress MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy has launched a direct attack on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, questioning the lack of action against Andhra-based contractors involved in the Kaleshwaram project. He alleged that several Andhra contractors had looted public money, but Revanth Reddy was delaying action under the guise of investigations and commissions.
Speaking to media persons at his Hyderabad residence on Wednesday, Rajagopal Reddy said over 20 Andhra-based contractors were looting Telangana’s resources and promised to expose them soon. He vowed to speak out against anyone looting the State’s wealth, be it in the form of land, sand, or contracts, irrespective of party affiliations.
Reiterating his commitment to the Congress, the Munugode MLA said the party will remain in power for the full term and Revanth Reddy will be the Chief Minister. However, the question of future leadership remains open. He demanded the immediate filling of Ministerial posts and the conduct of local body elections. He also cautioned Revanth Reddy against ridiculing the media, including digital media, which deserves respect regardless of who is in power.
He also urged the Chief Minister to stop abusing and harassing the opposition and instead, focus on delivering results for the people of Telangana. He warned that if mistakes within the government are not pointed out, the Congress party will face the consequences. “Talk less, work more,” he said, asserting that he was only expressing the sentiments of the people and offering constructive suggestions.
