Adilabad: A 55-year-old daily wage labourer was crushed to death after cotton bales accidentally fell on him while he was loading cotton at a ginning mill in Boath mandal centre on Tuesday.

Locals said that Shankaram Gaikwad from Maharashtra sustained serious injuries when he was trapped under the bales.

He was immediately shifted to a government hospital in Boath. He died while undergoing treatment. Gaikwad was loading cotton bales at the mill at the time of the mishap.

He had migrated to Boath in search of livelihood a few months ago. His colleagues demanded that the mill owner extend compensation to Gaikwad’s kin.
