Warangal: The last date for the registration and submission of online applications for the Telangana State Education Common Entrance Test through Computer Based Test for 2021 without  late fee is July 7, said Prof A Ramakrishna, Convener, Ed.CET–2021.

Addressing a press meet along with Kakatiya University (KU) Vice-Chancellor Prof T Ramesh at the KU Senate Hall here on Monday, Ramakrishna said that the online application registration fee is Rs 650 and for SC/ST/PH candidates, the fee is Rs 450.

“The Ed. CET will be conducted on August 24 and 25 from 10 am to 12 noon and 3 pm to 5 pm by the Osmania University (OU), Hyderabad, for admission into B.Ed. (Two Years) regular course offered in the Colleges of Education in Telangana State for the academic year 2021-22,” he said adding that the aspirants will have a common question paper as per the new pattern. “This meant students will be answering questions from all the subjects in the subject/content section instead of a select subject. They  have to answer questions from Mathematics, Science and Social Studies subjects in the subject section. Earlier, a candidate had an option to choose any one of the subjects-Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Social Studies, English, and Oriental Languages to appear in the entrance test.

“A total of 60 questions with 20 questions each from Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies will be asked in the subject/content section. Questions that focus on reasoning and problem solving will be drawn from class 1 to 10 of the State syllabus. Likewise, teaching aptitude, and general English sections will each have 20 questions. This time, two new sections namely educational issues and computer awareness have been introduced. There will be 30 questions in the general knowledge and educational issues, and 20 questions in the computer awareness section. Earlier, general English had 25 questions, general knowledge (15), teaching aptitude (10) and methodology (100),” Prof Ramakrishna added. KU VC Prof T Ramesh has appreciated the new pattern. Ed.CET co-convener Dr P Shankar,  and KU Registrar Dr R  Mallikharjun Reddy were present at the press meet.
