Hyderabad: Telangana Legislative Council on Friday expressed condolences following the demise of three former legislators who passed away between March and April 2021.
The Council observed two minutes silence and paid tributes to the departed leaders H A Rehman, R Muthyam Reddy and P Limba Reddy.
Rehman, 63, passed away on April 30 while Muthyam Reddy, 89, died on May 2 and Limba Reddy, 93, on March 21.
Rehman, who was was elected MLA in united Andhra Pradesh in 2007, played a key role in the Statehood movement. Muthyam Reddy was elected MLA in 1978 from Ramayanpet.
In 1980, he resigned from the seat to pave the way for former Chief Minister T Anjaiah’s to become an MLA after taking up the top post. Muthyam Reddy was again elected as MLA in 1985.
Limba Reddy, a former MLC, was a native of Armoor in Nizamabad district.
The Council also welcomed the newly elected members Surabhi Vani Devi and Palla Rajeshwar Reddy and adjourned the House to Monday.
