Telangana likely to witness moderate to heavy rainfall till April 17

Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department, Hyderabad, has extended the thunderstorm warning for several districts of Telangana by three days.

The officials warn that moderate to heavy rains will be witnessed in various parts of the State till April 17. Earlier, the department had predicted the thurderstorm to pass by April 14.


According to the latest developments, experts warn that thunderstorm accompanied with lightning, gusty winds between 30 kmph and 40 kmph, and hailstorm are very likely to occur at isolated places across Telangana.

Due to pre-monsoon activities, Hyderabad is also expected to witness heavy rain in various parts of the city on April 14. IMD informs that rain or thunderstorm would occur towards evening across the city for the next three-four days.

The officials have also issued warning for people to stay indoors as much as possible. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation is already in action and has alerted the monsoon emergency teams to ensure that citizens do not face any inconvenience. They are keeping an eye on any new developments.

Districts including Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Adilabad, Kumram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Jagtial, Pedapalli, Karimnagar, Rajanna Siricilla, Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Sangareddy, Medak, Vikarabad, Narayanpet, Mahabubnagar, Jogulamba Gadwal, Wanaparthy will receive light to moderate rains for the next four days.
