Telangana logs 1673 positive infections, 1165 from GHMC

Hyderabad: The daily Covid-19 positive cases driven by the Omicron variant in Telangana has continued with health authorities on Sunday reporting 1,673 positive cases out of which 1,165 positive infections were from areas under GHMC. Health officials have also reported a fatality on Sunday, which has taken the overall number of deaths in TS to 4,042.

The Covid infections are also registering a significant increase in other urban centres of
Telangana with 149 positive infections in Medchal-Malkajgiri and 123 in Rangareddy district.

The total number of positive cases so far in Telangana has reached 6,94,030 while the number of active cases as on Sunday was 13,522.

The authorities on Sunday conducted 48,583 Covid tests of which results of 13,162 samples were awaited. A total of 330 individuals have recovered with a recovery rate of 97.46 per cent on Sunday.

So far, a total of 3,01,23,888 Covid-19 tests have been conducted in the State out of which 6,94,030 have tested positive and 6,76,466 persons have recovered.
