Telangana logs 2398 new Covid cases, registers 3 deaths on Friday

Hyderabad: The surge in new Omicron variant Covid-19 infections in Telangana has continued with health authorities on Friday reporting 2,398 positive cases out of which 1,233 were from areas under GHMC. A total of three Covid-19 fatalities were also reported on Friday, taking the overall number of deaths in TS to 4,052.

The active Covid-19 positive infections in Telangana, as on Friday have surged to 21,676 out of which close to 16,500 active cases are from areas under GHMC.


Apart from Hyderabad, Covid-19 is also registering a significant increase in other urban centres of Telangana with authorities reporting 191 positive infections in Medchal-Malkajgiri and 192 cases in Rangareddy district on Friday.

The health department conducted 68,525 Covid tests on Friday out of which results of 10, 118 samples were awaited. On Friday, 1181 individuals had recovered with a recovery rate of 96.35 per cent.

So far, a total of 3,05,20,564 Covid-19 tests have been conducted in the State out of which 7,05,199 have tested positive and 6,79,471 persons have recovered.
