Telangana logs 2,646 new Covid infections, 3 fatalities on Wednesday

Hyderabad: Telangana on Wednesday registered 2,646 Covid-19 infections out of which 747 positive cases were from areas under GHMC. The health authorities also have reported three Covid fatalities on Wednesday, taking the overall number of deaths in TS to 4,094. The active Covid-19 positive infections in Telangana, as on Wednesday, is 34,665.

Apart from Hyderabad, Omicron-driven Covid infections are registering significant increase in other urban centres of Telangana with authorities reporting 177 cases from Medchal-Malkajgiri, 134 cases in Rangareddy district, 114 in Hanumakonda, 102 from Karimnagar, 86 from Nalgonda, 87 from Siddipet and 81 from Khammam.


The health department conducted 88, 206 Covid tests on Wednesday out of which results of 2,452 samples were awaited. On Wednesday, 3,603 individuals had recovered with a recovery rate of 94.96 per cent.

So far, a total of 3,23,02,160 Covid-19 tests have been conducted in the State out of which 7,69,407 have tested positive and 7,30,648 persons have recovered.
