Telangana logs 4,393 new Covid cases, 2 fatalities on Saturday

Hyderabad: The Covid-19 incidence in Telangana continued to remain high with a total of 4,393 cases reported from across the State on Saturday.

Hyderabad continued to lead the chart of the Covid-19 positive cases with 1,643 cases reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits. According to a bulletin released by the Director of Public Health and Family Welfare, Medchal-Malkajgiri district today accounted for 421 cases followed by Rangareddy with 286 cases.

While Hanamkonda reported 184 Covid-19 positive cases, Khammam had 128 cases and 98 cases were reported from Pedappali. Two fatalities due to Covid in the State were reported and the bulletin put the recovered cases at 2,319 with a recovery rate of 95.18 per cent. As on Saturday, 31,199 persons with Covid were under treatment or home isolation.

On Saturday, health officials had carried out 1,16,224 tests for Covid and reports for 9,537 samples were awaited.
