Jagtial: Two teenagers who were in love died while undergoing treatment in different hospitals where they were admitted after they consumed pesticide on Monday night.

According to police, Choppari Madhu (18), a native of Kothadampalli, and Arepalli Kavya (18), a resident of Sangemsrirampur of Mallapur mandal, were intermediate students who had been in love for some time. Their parents, however, were against their marriage. The two, upset by the families’ response, decided to end their lives and consumed pesticides in a cattle shed at Kotharampalli on Monday night.

After drinking the pesticide, Madhu made a video call to his brother in Dubai and informed him. Shocked by what was happening, Madhu’s brother alerted his parents, who rushed to the spot and shifted them to a private hospital in Metpalli.

With their condition turning serious, they were shifted to Jagitial and Karimnagar government hospitals. Kavya died while undergoing treatment in Jagtial hospital on Wednesday, while Madhu breathed his last in Karimnagar hospital on Friday morning.
