Telangana: Major fire accident occurred in a cloth showroom in Korutla

Locals, who heard loud sounds of shattering window panes and noticed the flames, alerted the fire service department. Though the fire tenders tried to bring the flames under control, the three storeyed cloth showroom was gutted.

Jagtial: A major fire accident took place in a big cloth showroom in Korutla town on Wednesday.

The fire broke out at Anand Shopping mall located in Kallur road of Korutla town at around 2 am. Since the incident occurred after midnight, the flames were noticed late.

Locals, who heard loud sounds of shattering window panes and noticed the flames, alerted the fire service department. Though the fire tenders tried to bring the flames under control, the three storeyed cloth showroom was gutted.

According to the mall management, about Rs 6 to 7 crore worth cloth and other material was burnt in flames.

Though the exact reason is not yet known, it is suspected that the fire broke out due to short-circuit. A lamp in the shopping mall may have caused the fire accident, the management suspected.
