Telangana: Mamatha Hospital issue snowballing into controversy in Peddapalli

Peddapalli: District Medical and Health Officer Anna Prasanna Kumari’s search in Mamatha hospital, Godavarikhani, is snowballing into controversy. DMHO is getting support from various sections of the people and demanding action against hospital management.

It may be recalled here that on April 26, DMHO conducted surprise checking in Mamatha hospital on the allegation of conducting sex determination tests. Based on the complaint, DMHO conducted surprise checking in the nursing home and broke open the scanning room wherein she found an ultrasound scanning machine.

She seized the machine in the presence of Tahsildhar and police as it had been operated illegally without getting permission.
Knowing about it, congress leader and former Ramagundam Mayor Dr Anil Kumar, hospital doctor Nagireddy, IMA president Dr Kyasa Srinivas, former corporator Mahankali Swamy mounted pressure on DMHO by using their political influence.

One of the hospital staff Chippakurthi Anand lodged a complaint with police against DMHO stating that Prasanna Kumari humiliated him.
Based on the complaint, Godavarikhani town-I police registered the case against DMHO under sections 296(b), 352, 351.

DMHO also lodged a counter complaint for abstracting her duties and threatening to kill her. Based on the complaint, Dr Anil Kumar, Dr Nagireddy, Dr Kyasa Srinivas, former corporator Mahankali Swamy were booked under 318(4), 132, 292, 351(2) r/w 3(5) BSS 29 sections.
Various organisations are extending support to DMHO and wanted the district administration to take action against hospital management.

On Tuesday, TNGO leaders led by the president Bonkuri Shankar gave representation to the Collector Koya Sree Harsha requesting him to take action against Mamatha hospital management and others who threatened DMHO.
They wanted the collector to suspend government doctors Nagireddy, Rajashekhar Reddy and RJ Swathi.
