Nagakurnool: A 56-year-old employee died by suicide after learning that his wife had taken a loan without his knowledge. The incident occurred at Madhuranagar Colony in the district.

Gunna Muthyalu, was working as an attendant at DMHO office in the district. His wife Rajitha, had worked as a nurse but quit the job and had taken a loan of Rs.1.5 lakh from a person.

On Saturday, the person arrived at Muthyalu’s residence and demanded repayment of money. Feeling humiliated that he wasn’t told of the loan, Muthyalu tried to hang himself from the ceiling fan in the house. Noticing his attempt, the neighbours immediately broke the door and shifted him to a Government General Hospital in the district. However, he breathed his last on Sunday morning while undergoing treatment, according to reports.

Following a complaint from Muthyalu’s mother Anjanamma, the police have booked a case.
