Telangana: Man hacked to death over sorcery allegations in Asifabad
A 50-year-old man, Hanumath Rao, was hacked to death at Pittaguda in Tiryani mandal by Sidam Vinod, allegedly over practising sorcery. Rao’s wife was injured while intervening. Police registered a murder case and launched an investigation
Adilabad: A 50-year-old man was hacked to death for allegedly practising sorcery at Pittaguda hamlet under Mangi gram panchayat in Tiryani mandal on Saturday night. The incident came to light on Sunday.
According to police, the victim, Hanumath Rao, was attacked with an axe by one Sidam Vinod following an argument. Rao bled to death on the spot, while his wife, Bojju Bai, sustained injuries when she tried to intervene. Her condition is said to be stable.
Police registered a case of murder against Vinod based on a complaint from Rao’s family and launched an investigation.
