Nirmal: A man was hacked to death, allegedly by his father, at Mallapur village in Laxmanchanda mandal early on Friday morning. The motive behind the killing is yet to be ascertained.

Soan Inspector Govardhan Reddy said Bainam Ashok (37) was hacked to death by his father Erranna, a farm daily wage labourer aged 70, when the former was asleep at around 3 am. Ashok was found dead on the bed with bleeding injuries on his head and neck. He was the only son of Erranna.

The police inspected the scene of the crime and gathered details of the incident upon receiving information from locals about the murder. They suspected that Erranna might have murdered his son following differences between the two.

Gangavva, the mother of Ashok, lodged a complaint with the police. A murder case was booked against Erranna, who was absconding. Police were reportedly interrogating Erranna after nabbing him from a bus stand in the village.
