Telangana: Man, niece die by suicide in Adilabad

Adilabad: A man and his niece died, allegedly by suicide, after consuming pesticide at Undam village in Thalamadugu mandal on Saturday. The reason behind their extreme step was yet to be ascertained.

Adilabad Rural Inspector Phanidhar said Akula Rakesh (35), an owner of a fertilizer shop, and his niece Lavanya (16) from the village died after consuming pesticide at their farm.


Rakesh along with his wife, daughter Prashamsha and niece Lavanya visited their field. However, Rakesh and Lavanya ended their life. They were immediately shifted to RIMS-Adilabad. Doctors declared that the two were brought dead.

The Inspector, who inspected the spot of the crime, said they were probing into the motive of the suicide pact. Further details are awaited.
