Telangana: Man sentenced to 6 years’ RI for killing wife in Nirmal

Nirmal: A district court here on Monday sentenced a man to six years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 2,000 for murdering his wife four years ago.
District and Sessions Court Judge Srivani pronounced the verdict, finding Palakar Sainath of Basar guilty of setting his wife ablaze after dousing her with kerosene in 2021. The court examined eyewitness testimonies and material evidence before delivering the judgment.
The victim had given a dying declaration while undergoing treatment, based on which Basar police registered a case. A charge-sheet was subsequently filed, leading to Sainath’s conviction.
