Hyderabad: A Hyderabad student was shot dead by an armed robber at a gas filling station in Dallas, United States. The victim, Pole Chandrasekhar (28), a resident of LB Nagar, was pursuing his Master’s course in Data Analytics from the University of North Texas.
According to his family members, Chandrasekhar had completed Bachelor’s course in the city and had gone to the United States for higher education in July 2023. His course had ended six months ago.
“Chandrasekhar was in search of a job and was temporarily working at a gas filling station when a robber shot him dead,” said his elder brother, Pole Damodar. The news of his death was communicated to the family by one of Chandrasekhar’s acquaintances.
Soon after the news broke, grief enveloped his residence at LB Nagar, with relatives and local leaders pouring in to offer condolences and support to the family. The family sought the help of Government of India and the State government in bringing back the body to the city at the earliest for final rites.
Former Minister and BRS MLA T Harish Rao visited the family. He later asked the State government to extend all support to the family of the victim and help bring the mortal remains of Chandrasekhar to his home town.
In a post on X, Harish Rao said, “It is tragic that Chandra Shekhar Pole, a Dalit student who completed BDS and went to America (Dallas) for higher studies, died in a shooting carried out by miscreants early morning. The pain that the parents are going through, knowing that their son, who they believed would reach great heights, is no more, is heart-wrenching to witness. My deepest condolences to their family members.”
