Hyderabad: Property owners and builders planning residential, institutional, hospital, and commercial buildings, facilities, and projects near a notified airport noise zone have to use sound-resistant materials to improve the indoor environment.

On Saturday, special chief secretary, Metropolitan Area and Urban Development (MA& UD), Jayesh Ranjan, issued GO No 124 following a revised amendment.

According to the revised amendment to Rule 3 (d) of the Telangana Building Rules 2012, it was the responsibility of the owner or builder to construct the building strictly in compliance with the noise limits prescribed by the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in the vicinity of notified airport noise zone areas, using sound-resistant material.
