Telangana: MBBS second-year student of RIMS dies by suicide in Adilabad hostel
A 19-year-old second-year MBBS student at RIMS Adilabad, Sahil Choudari, was found dead in his hostel room. The cause of the alleged suicide remains unclear. Authorities have formed a committee to investigate the tragic incident
Adilabad: A 19-year-old MBBS second-year student died allegedly by suicide in his hostel room on the premises of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Adilabad, on Wednesday. The reason for the suicide remains unknown.
Police identified the deceased as Sahil Choudari, a native of Rajasthan. He reportedly hanged himself from a ceiling fan in his hostel room. Police said he was alone at the time of the incident and the exact cause behind his action was yet to be ascertained.
His classmates broke down the door after he did not respond and were shocked to find him hanging. They rushed him to RIMS hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Officials of the institute said a committee comprising faculty members had been formed to ascertain the circumstances leading to the suicide.
The incident occurred just days before the commencement of second-year MBBS classes on August 2.
