Hyderabad: Ministers P Sabitha Indra Reddy and Vemula Prashanth Reddy on Tuesday thanked Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for declaring that the State government would procure paddy cultivated in Yasangi.
In a statement issued here, Sabitha Reddy criticised the double standards of the BJP leaders in the State on the paddy procurement issue. It was the BJP leaders who instigated innocent farmers to cultivate paddy in Yasangi and left them in the lurch. People were keenly observing the anti-farmer policies of the Central government to teach a fitting lesson to it and added that the Centre failed to respond when the Chief Minister staged a dharna in New Delhi demanding that the Centre purchase paddy from farmers.

Prashanth Reddy said the Chief Minister took the decision to procure every grain in the larger interest of farmers in the State and there was no need for farmers to panic. The Chief Minister’s decision would instill confidence among farmers.
Thanking the Chief Minister for his decision on paddy procurement, Reddy asked farmers to keep an eye on the BJP leaders who always politicise issues.
