Telangana: Minor girl raped in Narsingi

Hyderabad: A minor girl was allegedly raped by five youngsters in Narsingi in Ranga Reddy district.

The incident came to light when the girl’s parents lodged a complaint with the police on Thursday.

As per available information, the suspects who belong to Hydershahkote in Narsingi, are known to the victim, who also is from the same neighbourhood.

The incident came to light when the girl recently complained of illness and when her parents enquired, she shared the ordeal.

Following which, the victim and her parents lodged a complaint with the Narsingi police, who booked a case under sections of the POCSO Act and detained the suspects in the case.

The police shifted her to a local hospital for medical examination. The police said that all necessary steps will be taken to ensure justice for the girl.

Meanwhile, there is an uproar from local residents, social activists and public representatives demanding stricter measures regarding the safety of children. Local residents are of the opinion that families and society need to take action together to prevent such incidents from recurring.

The police have advised the public to take precautions at all places for the safety of children.

Officials said further details on the incident will be made known during course of the investigation.
