Telangana: Morning temperatures plummet in Hyderabad and districts

Early morning temperatures dipped sharply in several parts of Hyderabad and districts of Telangana State on Thursday, with cold and chilly winds bringing down the mercury by at least 3 to 4 degree Celsius at multiple locations

Hyderabad: Early morning temperatures dipped sharply in several parts of Hyderabad and districts of Telangana State on Thursday, with cold and chilly winds bringing down the mercury by at least 3 to 4 degree Celsius at multiple locations.

Based on the temperature data provided by noted weather forecaster from Hyderabad, T Balaji, early morning temperatures dropped to 12 degree Celsius at University of Hyderabad, 12.2 degree Celsius at Rajendranagar, 14.6 degree at Moula Ali, 14.9 degree Celsius at Gachibowli, 16.1 degree Celsius at Sivarampalle and 16.6 degree Celsius at Begumpet.


Till a day ago, the early morning temperatures at these locations ranged from 18 degree C to 22 degree Celsius.

A similar situation prevailed in districts of Telangana. “Unusual coldwave sweeps Telangana. Ever imagined, just before 3-hours, we had scorching heat to the range of 39 degree Celsius and 40 degree Celsius and now, its single digit shivering temperatures in Telangana, absolutely insane (sic),”the noted weather forecaster (Telangana Weatherman) posted on Thursday morning posted on X.

According to the weather data provided by Balaji, in Asifabad district, Tiryani recorded the lowest at 8.5 degree Celsius and Kerameri at 11.5 degree C.

In Adilabad district, Jainad recorded 9.2 degree C, Adilabad urban recorded 9.4 degree C, Bela recorded 9.5 degree Celsius. At Sangareddy district, Andole recorded an early temperature of 9.9 degree Celsius.

“Due to heavy snowfall event in Himalayas, a brief spell of cold winds coming down,” Balaji explained.
