Hyderabad: As part of the celebration of 75 years of India’s Independence, the Telangana NRI forum organised International Women’s Day celebrations on the topic of women empowerment on a large scale in London by inviting women from Telangana and also prominent Telugu women, who are settled in different sectors across the United Kingdom.

The session was organised to discuss the overall development of women in these 75 years in society, women in employment, business, service, social and political platforms and also to discuss various opportunities for women.

In addition to the celebrations, Telugu women in London have been promoting different kinds of arts for the last 12 years like handloom, Gollabama, Pembari, Nirmal dolls while this year, it was decided to promote and encourage filigree silver arts from Karimnagar.

The event was attended by more than 140 Telugu women settled in various fields like medical, business, IT and education.

This event was conducted by the Telangana NRI Forum core committee members Meena Anthati, Gampa Jayasree, Shouri Goud and other committee members, according to a press release.
