Hyderabad: Telangana NRIs are coming forward to pay back to the schools which paid the path for their development. Many of them are willing to be partners in the State government’s ambitious programme ‘Mana Ooru-Mana Badi’.
TRS NRI wing coordinator Mahesh Bigala called on TRS working president and IT Minister KT Rama Rao at Pragati Bhavan on Friday and informed about the eagerness of Telangana NRIs. He explained how he partnered with the State government and contributed in his personal capacity for the development of the government school in his native village where works worth Rs 1 crore were taken up.
In a statement, Mahesh said they would soon organise an online meeting with the NRIs to elicit their opinions and facilitate their participation in the programme taken up by the State government to improve the schools’ infrastructure. Ministers KT Rama Rao and P Sabita Indra Reddy also will be invited for the virtual programme.
He said NRIs who studied in schools in their hometowns will partner with the government to develop their schools under the ‘Mana Ooru-Mana Badi’ programme. He thanked Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, Ministers KT Rama Rao and P Sabita Indra Reddy for making English medium available in all the government schools in the State for the bright future of students. He said that through this programme, the children of Telangana would have the opportunity to participate in competitive examinations not only in the State but also in the country and anywhere in the world.
