Coimbatore: Telangana opened its campaign in the Junior National Hockey Championship with a commanding 3-0 win over Tripura in the first-round match here on Tuesday.

Full-back Piyush struck twice through penalty corners, while forward Sanga Sri Ram added a field goal to seal the victory.
