Mancherial: Former MLA Nadipelli Diwakar Rao on Sunday warned that officials supporting the alleged corruption and wrongdoings of local MLA K Premsagar Rao would face consequences.
Addressing the media, Diwakar Rao alleged that Mancherial Municipal Commissioner Shivaji was forced to vacate his post due to pressure from the MLA to clear bills for developmental works and to approve inflated costs for projects executed by his followers and associates.
He said while some officials managed to resist political pressure, others extended active support and would be held accountable. “Officials who sold sand to private individuals and those who backed the demolition of the under-construction integrated vegetable market will not be spared. Police personnel who booked false cases and arrested BRS workers will also face action,” he declared.
The former MLA said residents of Mancherial were suffering due to poor sanitation, and alleged that middlemen and officials were fleecing applicants seeking permissions for house construction. He advised officials to choose between fair service and future repercussions.
Diwakar Rao also predicted that Premsagar Rao would be defeated in the next elections from the Mancherial Assembly constituency.
