Telangana: Over 1.93 lakh cases settled in National Lok Adalat

Telangana Police successfully resolved 1.93 lakh cases during the National Lok Adalat, offering relief to victims, especially in cyber fraud cases. The effort, guided by the Supreme Court, involved multiple legal bodies and marked a major legal success

Hyderabad: The Telangana police, during the National Lok Adalat held on Saturday, liquidated 1,93,439 cases successfully. The Lok Adalat was held on the guidelines issued by the Supreme Court of India and is aimed at amicably settling cases between the parties through compounding.

Telangana DGP, Dr Jitender, said the initiative witnessed remarkable success across the state, addressing a wide range of legal matters and providing financial relief to victims of cyber fraud. The success was possible through coordination between Telangana State Legal Services Authority (TGLSA), District Judges, Magistrates, District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs), Commissioners of Police (CPs), State Cyber Security Bureau and District Superintendents of Police, he said.


All the police units did well in the disposal of compoundable cases in the National Lok Adalat as compared to the compoundable cases disposed off in the previous one on March 8. In addition, a refund of the amount put on hold in Cyber Crimes was also undertaken.

Total Cases solved in Lok Adalat – 1,93,439 cases

BNS (IPC) and other laws – 1,87,145 cases

Cyber Fraud cases – 6,294

Breakup of cases:

➢ Total FIR cases compounded: 22,095

➢ Disaster Management cases: 8,922

➢ E-Petty cases: 84,601

➢ Motor Vehicle Act cases: 71,527

Top 5 units that performed exceptionally well:

1. Hyderabad — 32,171 cases

2. Rachakonda — 21,397 cases

3. Nalgonda — 16,496 cases

4. Warangal — 13,651 cases

5. Ramagundam — 13,316 cases
