Hyderabad: More than nine lakh applications have been submitted for regularisation of Sada Bainamas category of agriculture lands in rural areas. The State government had fixed June 2, 2014, as the cut-off date for land transactions on Sada Bainamas, to regularise them and November 10 (Tuesday) was the last date for submission of these applications. The processing of the applications will begin soon after the operational guidelines are issued.
Following requests from farmers, Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had recently announced in the State Assembly that the State government will regularise land transactions carried out using Sada bainamas as a last opportunity and to issue pattadar passbooks. Accordingly, the government issued orders on October 12, authorising all the District Collectors to accept Form-X claims for regularisation of Sada Bainamas.
Further, the guidelines were issued on October 19 asking the Sada Bainama holders to submit their applications through Mee Seva centres in a prescribed format. Though the deadline was earlier fixed on October 31, it was extended till November 10.
As per the guidelines issued earlier, the stamp duty and registration fee is exempted up to maximum extent of five acres in case of small and marginal farmers. Those with more than five acres land should pay both the stamp duty and regularisation fee. The scheme was not applicable for agricultural land transactions using Sada bainama in Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority, Kakatiya Urban Development Authority, municipal corporations and municipalities except for specified notified mandals.
