Telangana: Over two lakh private schools staff get aid

For April and May, the State government has deposited Rs 81.89 crore into the accounts of the private schools teaching and non-teaching staff, the Minister said.

Hyderabad: The State government has been providing financial aid to the tune of Rs 40.94 crore per month to 2,04,743 teaching and non-teaching staff working in the private schools in the State, Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy said on Tuesday. Each beneficiary was provided financial assistance of Rs 2,000. For April and May, the State government has deposited Rs 81.89 crore into the accounts of the private schools teaching and non-teaching staff, the Minister said.

This apart, each of them has been handed over 25 kg rice and a cumulative total of two months comes to Rs 38.76 crore worth rice weighing 10,347 tonnes, she said, adding that this has benefited teaching and non-teaching staff working in 11,046 private schools across the State. This was being done following Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s instructions to ensure no one remains hungry during the lockdown, she added.
