Hyderabad: The executive committee meeting of Telangana State unit of BJP will be conducted on Sunday in Secunderabad to discuss the strategy to be adopted for the ensuing Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly bypoll and MLC elections.

BJP general secretary and Telangana in-charge Tarun Chugh will attend the meeting to discuss the key issues pertaining to the elections. The party is reportedly collecting information from the workers in Nagarjuna Sagar before finalising the name of the candidate to the contest the bypoll.

The notification for the elections is likely to be issued either in February or March.
The BJP leader Premender Reddy has already started meeting the voters under Warangal-Nalgonda-Khammam graduates’ constituency while the sitting MLC N Ramachander Rao is relying on the party cadre and voters in twin cities to win Mahabubnagar-Hyderabad-Rangareddy graduates constituency.

The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N Uttam Kumar Reddy is believed to have submitted a list of contenders to the high command. The names of G Chinna Reddy, Ch Vamshi Chand Reddy, SA Sampath Kumar and another leader were submitted to finalise the candidate for Mahabubnagar-Hyderabad-Rangareddy graduates’ constituency.
For Warangal-Nalgonda-Khammam graduates’ constituency, the names of former MLC S Ramulu Naik, Osmania University Students Union Leader and TPCC general secretary K Manavatha Rai and All India Adivasi Congress vice-president Tejavath Bellaiah Naik were submitted.

However, Chinna Reddy and Ramulu Naik were reportedly emerging as frontrunners for the MLC elections, sources said.
