Adilabad: Parts of both Adilabad and Nirmal districts saw light to moderate rains from Tuesday morning to Wednesday morning.

According to a weather report published on the website of Telangana State Planning Development Society, the average rainfall of Adilabad district was gauged to be 31.3 mm.

Utnoor mandal received the highest rainfall by 80 mm, followed by Adilabad Urban mandal, which had 50.6 mm of rainfall.

Bheempur Mavala, Jainad, Gudihathnoor, Adilabad Rural, Tamsi and Ichoda mandals witnessed anywhere between 30 and 45 mm of rainfall.

Meanwhile, Nirmal district’s average rainfall was measured to be 19.8 mm. Mudhole mandal had the highest rainfall of 59.2 mm, followed by Dilawarpur mandal, which registered 57.2 mm of rainfall.

Tanur, Kuntala, Basar, Lokeshwaram, Laxmanachanda and Mamada mandals experienced somewhere between 20 mm and 40 mm.

Due to the rains caused by early monsoon, paddy and jowar grains stored at procurement centres were drenched in several parts of both Adilabad and Nirmal districts, causing losses to farmers.

People living in low-lying areas of Nirmal and Adilabad towns faced inconvenience following logging of rainwater.
