Sangareddy: Public fury against the government came to the fore in a public ballot conducted by the joint action committee (JAC) formed against the proposed Pyaranagar dump yard across 13 villages in Gummadidalamandal.
The ballot was held to seek public opinion on the government’s decision to set up the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation’s(GHMC) dump yard at Pyaranagar village. The outcome saw what the public felt of the government move, 6,430 out of 6431 valid voters voting against the Pyaranagar dump yard.
In a press statement, the JAC leaders said that 6,449 people voted at the 10 polling stations set up by them. Out of the 6,449, 18 votes were found invalid while only one person voted in favour of the Pyaranagar dump yard. The JAC demanded the government to withdraw the proposal to set up the dump yard in their locality after coming to know about what was in the people’s minds. They said they would put up a strong fight against the proposal in the coming days.
