Hyderabad: The Project Pickle X, Telangana Pickleball Association’s first flagship circuit, concluded with its grand final leg featuring nine competitive categories and some of the state’s top emerging talent. More than 1000 high level matches were organised in this circuit of events.
Former Olympian and Secretary of TPA, Vishnu Vardhan, said “piickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the state and my vision is to bring it the much needed structure and pathway for players across age groups and levels. I am happy to have a strong core team members to support the association”
Tournament Director G. Manoj Raju said: ““Project Pickle X was created to give Telangana players a structured and competitive platform to grow consistently. Over the last five weeks, the response from the community has been incredible and it clearly shows the potential pickleball has in our state.”
Vamsi – Head of events at TPA, said: “I am extremely excited about how PPX is shaping up. What was supposed to be a simple circuit tournament has turned out to be bigger than what we anticipated. With over 200 players participating in various categories, PPX has become a good launch pad for many, especially beginners and women. This is motivating us to do bigger and better events in the days to come.”
Vasanth, Advisor of TPA, said: “Project Pickle X is what happens when a sports association decides ‘we’re actually going to do this properly.’ TPA created jobs, brought players together, and ran a tournament that started and ended on time — which, if you’ve been to Indian sports events, you know is its own form of revolution. Picklr was built in Telangana, free for every association in the country, and PPX was its proving ground. Glad to be an advisor to a team that gets it done.”
