Rajanna-Sircilla: About 50 monkeys were found dead at Shanthinagar, Nampally of Vemulwada municipal limits on Friday. Though it is not clear where and how the monkeys were killed, local people said that unknown persons dumped the caracasses at the spot.

After coming to know about the incident, animal welfare activist Adulapuram Goutham visited the spot and lodged a complaint with Vemulawada town police. He wanted the police to take action against the accused person since killing of any animal was an offense under section 11(1) (9) (L) of Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act 1960 and also section 325 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhitha.
