During a war situation, States located close to the border of the country are more affected. However, there is every possibility of the enemy using different tactics by activating its sleeper cells and sympathizers to rake in trouble in any remote corner of the country.

“Defence establishments including Military, Navy and Air Force installations are key targets for the enemy. It is not necessary that the enemy country attacks such installations with missiles, there sleeper cells, if any, in the country could target such installations to weaken the backup resources or instil a fear among people,” said a senior official of Telangana Police.

It is imperative for the police to maintain tight vigil and activate its networks to foil apart from closely coordinate with Armed Forces and central intelligence wings to thwart such possibilities, the officer said.

While the police do not disclose much about the action plans, it is learnt that senior officials had already held talks with senior officials of Army and Defence units and agencies involved in providing security to important installations including airports, defence installations and armed forces establishments here in the city .

The State intelligence department is also learnt to be watchful and observing the developments closely.
