Hyderabad: Two days after swearing in as ministers, the portfolios of the Ministers in the new Cabinet were announced on Saturday. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has kept Municipal Administration and Urban Development, General Administration, Law and Order, apart from all other unallocated portfolios with himself.

Revanth Reddy had visited Delhi on Friday to get the approval of the party high command before finalising the portfolios of the ministers. He submitted the list of ministers and portfolios to Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan on Saturday morning. The State government has also issued a gazette notification on the same.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, who served as the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader in the last assembly, will head the crucial portfolios of Finance & Planning and Energy, while former TPCC chief and senior Congress leader N Uttam Kumar Reddy has been assigned Irrigation & CAD, Food and Civil Supplies portfolios.


C Damodar Rajanarasimha, who served as deputy Chief Minister in the Kiran Kumar Reddy-led government in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, has been allotted Health, Medical and Family Welfare, along with the Science and Technology Ministry.

Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, who served as minister in the YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s government in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, has been given charge of Roads & Buildings and Cinematography.

D Sridhar Babu, who also served as minister in the YSR Cabinet, has been assigned the portfolios of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Industries & Commerce and Legislative Affairs, whereas former Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar has been allotted the Backward Class Welfare and Transport ministries.

Among the two women ministers, Konda Surekha, who served as minister in the YSR government, has been given charge of Forest & Environment and Endowments Ministries, whereas D. Anasuya alias Seethakka would be handling Panchayat Raj and Rural Development (including rural water supply), Women and Child Welfare Ministries.

The ministries of Prohibition & Excise, Tourism & Culture and Archaeology have been given to Jupally Krishna Rao, who also was a minister in the YSR regime, while Agriculture, Marketing, Co-operation, and Handlooms & Textiles have been allocated to Tummala Nageshwara Rao, who served as minister in N Chandrababu Naidu and K Chandrashekhar Rao’s governments.

Former MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has been allotted Revenue and Housing and Information & Public Relations.

An expansion in the council of ministers is expected in the upcoming days, as six more ministers can be accommodated in the government.
