Hyderabad: The Secondary Grade Teachers (SGT) Union, Telangana, demanded that the State government exempt primary school teachers from SSC Public Examinations invigilation duties.

In a representation submitted to School Education department director, Dr E Naveen Nicolas, here on Saturday, SGT union K Mahipal Reddy said several primary schools have only two or three teachers on rolls.

When the teachers are assigned for Class X examinations duty at the end of the academic year, it disrupts regular teaching in primary schools, he said and wanted primary-level teachers to be exempted from such examination work.

Reddy also sought enhancement of special remuneration for teachers attending the Class X answer scripts evaluation work at the designated centres.
