Hyderabad: The Telangana Civil Supplies department stated that 12.38 Lakh Metric Tonnes (LMT) of paddy was procured for the Rabi 2025-26 season.

The State has already released Rs.1,129.43 crore in Minimum Support Price (MSP) payments directly into the bank accounts of over 1.54 lakh farmers, a press release said.

Currently, a network of 8,575 Paddy Purchase Centres (PPCs) is actively buying paddy from farmers. This extensive grassroots network is collaboratively managed with 4,455 centres run by Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS), 3,563 by Indira Kranthi Patham (IKP), and the remaining 557 by other supporting agencies.

Farmers are bringing in substantial quantities of both primary grain varieties, resulting in the procurement of 5.07 LMT of the fine variety and 7.31 LMT of the coarse variety.

The procurement operations are going on in full swing in the districts of Nizamabad, Nalgonda, Kamareddy, Suryapet, Karimnagar, Jagityal, Medak, Yadadri Bhongir, Peddapalli and Sircilla, the department claimed.
