Telangana Publications holds workshop on career building
The workshop-cum-talk on ‘Roadmap for Career Development and Planning’ focused on training students with skills required to achieve success in their careers
Hyderabad: The present day final year graduates should focus on building knowledge on career prospects and develop public speaking skills which are essential in building a successful career, said Prof S Zarar, Director, ICBM School of Business Excellence, Attapur here on Monday.
The ICBM Director, participating in a workshop-cum-talk on ‘Roadmap for Career Development and Planning’ organised by Telangana Today and Namasthe Telangana at Jahnavi Women’s College, Narayanaguda, on Monday, said that good command of the English language was a must to ensure success in professional career.
The interaction session, which was attended by nearly 120 students from the college, was focused on training students with skills required to achieve success in their careers.
Experts spoke on relevant topics including self-belief, self-confidence, attitude building and skills related to learning how to be street smart. The students also learned the art of active listening and being creative from the experts. Later, the workshop-cum-talk was opened up for an interaction session. Principal, Jahnavi Women’s College, Narayanaguda, Rajeshwari and senior faculty were present.
Speaking at another workshop organised by Telangana Today and Namasthe Telangana on Monday, at Jahnavi Degree College, Secunderabad, Associate Professor, ICBM, Jitender Govindani said that there is a huge demand for students who have pursued Management courses.
“Post Covid pandemic, there is a boom in the industry, which has created an immense requirement of skilled people. Students must seriously consider a career in Management, as no other field can offer such career opportunities,” he said.
The Associate Professor stressed the need to improve skill sets such as communication skills, creative thinking, analytical skills with market knowledge as well. Prof Jitender also spoke on various specialisations which colleges across the country are offering.
