Telangana pushes for Hyderabad-Bengaluru Defence Corridor
The Telangana government has urged the Centre to establish a Hyderabad-Bengaluru Defence and Aerospace Corridor to strengthen defence production and regional industrial growth. A delegation led by AP Jitender Reddy and Mallu Ravi met Union Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh in New Delhi to press the demand.

Hyderabad: The State government urged the Centre to establish a Hyderabad-Bengaluru Defence and Aerospace Corridor, to boost defence production and regional industrial growth. Accompanied by Nagarkurnool MP Mallu Ravi, Government special representative in New Delhi and former MP AP Jitender Reddy met Union Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh in New Delhi on Wednesday, in this regard.
Jitender Reddy said the proposed corridor would link defence hubs in Hyderabad with aerospace units in Bengaluru, creating an integrated industrial ecosystem. It is aimed at attracting large-scale investments and boosting indigenous defence manufacturing under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has already written letters to the Centre, in this regard.
The delegation also urged early execution of the Integrated Weapon System Complex proposed by the Defence Research and Development Laboratory at Devarakadra in Mahabubnagar district, for which the State government has already allocated land. The facility is expected to manufacture advanced missile systems, including BrahMos.
