Hyderabad: People from different sections are questioning All-India Congress Committee (AICC) Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan holding a meeting with Ministers in the Secretariat on Saturday.

Natarajan had met the Ministers regarding the row over the Kancha Gachibowli lands. The meeting was reportedly held in Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka’s chambers. However, objections were being raised over the Secretariat being used for party meetings.

Former director of Telangana Digital Media Konatham Dileep said on X: “I am curious – what values was Meenakshi Natarajan garu exhibiting by conducting a “review meeting” on Kancha Gachibowli mini forest issue at the Dr BR Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat? How can a party representative hold review meetings in the State Secretariat?” he asked.

Similarly, Forum for Good Governance president Padmanabha Reddy said it would have been good had the AICC in-charge conducted the meeting in the party office. However, much should not be read into the issue, he opined. This is not the first time that AICC leaders have attended meetings in the Secretariat. Last year, the then AICC in-charge Deepadas Munshi attended a meeting chaired by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to discuss the release of the State song.

Similarly, on February 14 last year, Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy had welcomed BRS party workers from Suryapet into the Congress by presenting them with the party scarves at the Secretariat. On December 23, 2023, Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao also held a meeting with Congress leaders from Malkajgiri Parliamentary Constituency at the Secretariat.
