Hyderabad: Director-General of Police M Mahendar Reddy said that public meetings and rallies were banned in the State till January 2 in the wake of outbreak of Omicron variant of Covid-19.
In a video message released here on Thursday, he asked Police Commissioners and Superintendents of Police (SPs) to inform the people about the ban on rallies and public meetings and ensure that there are no violations.
To control Covid, the people should wear face masks in public places and maintain physical distance apart from adhering to the Covid safety protocols, he added.
