Telangana registers 2,850 fresh Covid infections, 2 deaths on Tuesday

Hyderabad: Telangana on Tuesday registered 2,850 Covid-19 infections out of which 859 positive cases were from areas under GHMC. The health authorities also have reported two Covid fatalities on Tuesday, taking the overall number of deaths in TS to 4,091. The active Covid-19 positive infections in Telangana, as on Tuesday, is 35,625.
Apart from Hyderabad, Omicron driven Covid infections are registering significant increase in other urban centres of Telangana with authorities reporting 173 cases from Medchal-Malkajgiri, 157 cases in Rangareddy district, 101 in Siddipet, 99 in Karimnagar, 98 in Nalgonda, 92 from Khammam and 93 from Bhadradri Kothagudem.
The health department conducted 94,020 Covid tests on Tuesday out of which results of 3,205 samples were awaited. On Tuesday, 4,391 individuals had recovered with a recovery rate of 94.82 per cent.
So far, a total of 3,22,13,954 Covid-19 tests have been conducted in the State out of which 7,66,761 have tested positive and 7,27,045 persons have recovered.
